Our clients Frank and Susan built their custom home in Niagara, and asked for our design help to create a sophisticated and cheerful dream home for them. The wanted to ensure, that their retirement property was going to reflect their personality and lifestyle.
The living room is just as whimsical as Frank and Susan are. Soft cream upholstery from Hickory Chair with layers of custom detail create a perfect space for entertaining. The mix of wood, metal and acrylic occasional tables and the bold green area rug from Chandra takes this room from expected to unexpected.
The large circular dining table from Harden makes for great dinner parties. The cream and green accent colours flow into this space with the cabinetry and the combination of contrasting fabrics on the dining chairs.
The fine details of well chosen area rugs, artwork and lighting make these hallways memorable.
The great room's design concept was to bring in a little bit of the outdoors, hence the "Waves" area rug, which reminds us of the Niagara River. Shades of teal, greens and browns are incorporated for a fun mixture of woven textures and leather. The coffee and side tables are a melange of cream painted finishes and rich woodtones from Hickory Chair.
The blue guest bedroom is a comfortable retreat for visitors. The dark wood furniture from our Made in Canada bedroom source is nicely complemented by the calming shade of walls and light grey bedding.
The taupe bedroom is another comfortable space for overnight guests. The mix of sheer curtains, upholstered headboard and off-white open sidetables from our Thompson collection create a restful space to sleep in.
The master bedroom is a masterfully coordinated space of soft shades of mauves & creams, punctuated with pink and balanced with black. Whimsical pieces greet Susan and Frank in the morning, like the lamps on either side of the gorgeous upholstered poster bed, the ostrich feather & mohair throw on the leather dressing ottoman, the yellow and pink floral area rug under foot. The reading nook for two by the window is a great spot to recap the day.
The bathroom is an elegant, yet warm space with lots of custom detail to enjoy.
