A last minute shipment from Sugarboo Designs has just arrived on our doorstep! This brand is all about whimsical, heartfelt, and cheerful products - is there a better recipe for the perfect gift?

This bunch includes six unique prints as well as an array of paper products and accessories that are equal parts charming and quirky.

A Bit About Sugarboo

Sugarboo Designs was founded in 2005 by Rebecca Puig and her husband. The name "Sugarboo" comes from a few nicknames the couple has for their two children, and they remain the primary inspiration for Rebecca's designs. In her words:

"I always wanted to create products that remind us of ones we love... My inspirations are my family, nature, animals, old things, children's art and folk art. I also love juxtaposing old and new, light and dark, serious subject matter with fluff and anything with a message! I believe in putting good out into the world whenever possible. My hope is that each Sugarboo piece we send out into the world will add a little good!"

Pantone Colour of the Year: Marsala

According to Pantone, 2015 is the year of Marsala.

Vastly different from the selections of the past several years (2014 Radiant Orchid, 2013 Emerald, 2013 Tangerine Tango, 2011 Honeysuckle), Marsala is warm, earthy, and sophisticated - reminiscent of it's name sake, a bold Sicilian red wine.

There has already been a lot of buzz on the internet, with many criticizing the shade as dated, somber and in the opinion of some - downright ugly.

However, we think it's application in the worlds of fashion, beauty, and home decor has great potential (think of your favourite bordeaux-toned nail polish or an antique Persian rug).

Below are 3 dazzling photoshoots from Pantone that really illustrate the depth and versatility of the hue.

"A Unifying Element"

"The impactful, full-bodies qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement colour when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colours"

"A Tasteful Hue"

"Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness."

"A Hearty Yet Stylish Tone"

"Add elegance to any room by incorporating this rich and welcoming hue in accent pieces, acessories and paint. Marsala's plush characteristics are enhanced when the colour is applied to textured surfaces, making it an ideal choice for rugs and upholstered living room furniture."

The Art of Fragrance

If you aren't already familiar with the world of Lampe Berger, there is no time like the present to change that!

As consumers, we are inundated every day with advertisements for products designed to fill the home with fragrance and cover household odors. Some even claim to disinfect and get rid of odor and bacteria.

Lampe Berger takes this one step further by actually purifying the air through a process involving a patented catalytic burner, invented by Maurice Berger in 1989. This ensures that most odors (even stubborn ones) are eliminated completely in under 30 minutes. Originally designed as a method to disinfect hospital rooms, the company has reinvented themselves and become an international bestseller.

Here are Rousseau's, we are just crazy about this product! In addition to each of us having at least two lamps in our own homes, there is almost always a fragrance burning in the store. This gives us a great opportunity to test out new fragrances and weed out a few that haven't been so well received. While of course each of the scents is lovely on it's own, we love experimenting with our favourites to create something completely personal and original. Below are some staff approved blends to inspire you!

If you love all things fresh and clean, this combo is for you. Guests will think you just set down the mop and bucket, and we promise we won't tell otherwise!

Reminiscent of sweet Christmas treats, this blend is a holiday crowd-pleaser.

Betty's selection is not for the faint of heart, but perfect for those who tend to enjoy a musky or spicy fragrance. Notes of sandalwood, amber, and leather assist in creating these unique fragrances.

Paula is a purist and prefers to dilute her oils with So Neutral - completely fragrance free with all the same odor-killing and disinfecting results.

Brenda is our resident paragon of Christmas spirit, so it comes as no surprise that she chose this fusion of evergreen with a hint of spice.

If you enjoy sweet fragrances with an unexpected twist, you will love this pairing. With notes of blackcurrant and other delicious fruits, Black Pomegranate adds a kick to the otherwise soft and warm Vanilla Gourmet.

Precious Metals

More beautiful items have made their way into our lives! This gorgeous group of pieces in bright metallic finishes offer a touch of glitz in a variety of styles.

Metallics are a fantastic way to begin the transition into the holiday season, without being overtly festive. They hint at something special, like a treasured piece of jewelry, and make a room shine (sometimes literally).

Whether you're a total glam girl, or prefer a more understated approach to decor, any of these pieces would be a lovely addition to your home!
