Kravet Canada event at Rousseau's

Rousseau's hosted an event on May 30th to celebrate the launch of
Brunschwig and Fils new line of fabrics, Les Alizes.

We dressed up the store from head to toe in shades of pink & orange and blue & green,
to echo the tones of the new fabric introductions from the french fabric house,
 Brunschwig and Fils.

Classic patterns in new bold tones is the theme of the Les Alizes collection.

The blue and green hues are vibrant and fresh, resembling
shades of crystal clear sky and leafy spring greens.

This photo is from Brunschwig and Fils advertising campaign.
It paints an inspiring picture of how the new fabrics can be used to create a gorgeous space.

A close-up of the details.

We love this newly revamped Ikat, shown in pink as curtain panels in the above photo.

The new trims can add a luxurious detail to upholstery or drapery.

The Flowers of Jamakhana pattern is stunning, it would make a gorgeous chair.

For the next two weeks, we have large format (two-yard) showroom samples of all the
Kravet new introductions. Stop by to see them,
there is nothing better than seeing them in person, draping them over a chair,
holding them up to a window to help envision your redecorating project.

Kravet Canada has offered an exclusive promotion to us on their fabric line.

Save 20% until June 29th to celebrate their new fabric launch.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, let's get to the party!
Brian Donovan, head of Kravet Canada spoke about the fabric world and
the creative work behind the Les Alizes collection.

Cathy Toner (The Cheese Princess) from Herma's Fine Foods taught us about french cheeses.

Diane Theoret from Vincor Wines talked about how to pair french wine & cheese.

Deborah Starzinski from "In the kitchen with Deborah" served delicious hors d'ouvres and inspired us to entertain in style.
Cordon Sue' Cakes provided us with sweets and pastries that were exquisite.

Sarah Shaw, local artist, brought in her paintings from her gallery to showcase.

We had wonderful guests and visitors.

Great night, great fun, great inspirations!

How to update a room with a single item and have the biggest impact...

Living room/ Family room:
Placing a new rug, like a cowhide or sisal rug under your existing furniture will take an average room to fabulous! The ying and yang between traditional furniture and a contemporary rug makes for an interesting and edgy space.

Dining room:
New artwork will give a fresh vibe to your space.  You can place one or two large pieces of art for a big impact or create a gallery wall as shown on Meredith Heron's photo. Mix and match frames of various shades, gold with silver, add cream and dark toned frames together to get the current look.

Kitchen:
Adding fabric valances and drapery to your kitchen windows is an opportunity to introduce colour, warmth and sound absorption. Go for bold patterns, vibrant colours to make a statement. The yellow and grey Thom Filica fabric in this white kitchen is the starting point for all the citrus colour accents. Yellow and green is always fresh, always current in a kitchen.

Bathrooms:
Choosing impactful wallpaper or the perfect shade of  paintcolour makes a dramatic difference on the feel of a bathroom. We love this Cohl and Son wallpaper, so playful in this bathroom. If you are not a fan of wallpapering, choosing a new grey, or a dramtic deep tone will erase the aging look of a 10 year old bathroom and will make it delightfully current.

Dreamy bedding

Treat Mom or treat yourself to a new look!
Changing your bedding for spring is an easy way to freshen up your bedroom. It's a european tradition to switch out heavier winter bedding to a lighter weight duvet. At the same time sheets and duvet covers get switched to lightweight linens and cottons for spring/ summer. Have a look at our Blanc des Voges bedding collection, fine french linens, made in Montreal.
